Academic Philosophy

It is Liberty Christian School’s desire to provide our students with quality academics with a rigor that allows our students time to pursue sports and personal interests without overloading them with time-consuming “busy work” or over-taxing homework.

We provide academic support for your child through small classroom sizes and individualized attention. We are not a special needs school, but we do have students with IEPs and academic needs that we try to meet. We do not diagnose these individualized plans but try to tailor the educational needs presented by these plans to meet the students where they are so that they can have academic success.

Academics

K-6 academics are a mix of Bob Jones University, Positive Action, Savvas, and McGraw Hill curricula, with teachers adding their own teaching styles and resources. They all use web-based enhancements like Class Dojo, and XtraMath. We also use Google Classroom, Khan Academy, and Accelerated Reader to enhance our curriculum. We have Elementary "Pull-Outs" as well to enhance our elementary experience: ASL, Library, Music, Choir, Band, and PE.

Citizenship

At our Christian school, we focus on preparing students not just for college, but for whatever path they choose after high school, grounded in the belief that they are made in God's image and called to be productive citizens. Our 7th-12th grade academics follow a rigorous, college-prep curriculum based on California State Standards and the "a-g requirements" of the University of California system. We incorporate diverse curriculum publishers such as Bob Jones, Savvas, McGraw Hill, and Positive Action. Using a project-based learning model within an eight-block schedule, we encourage students to work in groups to design, develop, and solve real-world problems. This approach helps them build critical skills like creativity, collaboration, and perseverance in facing challenges.
