Welcome to the Liberty Ch
ristian Writing Center! Here Writing Center consultants work with Liberty students one-on-one at any stage in the writing process. Students should bring in writing projects they're creating for ANY class, such as essays, reports, creative writing, and researched writing. We help students organize notes, develop outlines, revise thesis statements, improve upon the 6-traits of writing, fix grammar mistakes, and work on various aspects of the prewriting, drafting, and editing stages of the writing process. Our Christ-centered, collaborative learning environment offers constructive feedback with the long-term goal of improved writing skills. Our friendly staff is available to consult with you on your writing assignments Monday through Friday during a variety of 20 minute sessions. Schedule an appointment and come visit us to get some help on your current writing assignment. The Writing Center is located in Room 201, on the second floor of the gym building.

*Sign up in our Appointment book. It will show which appointment spots have already been filled and which ones are still available. Appointments last 20 minutes.
*There are over 50 appointment spots each and every week. They range from before and after school, at lunch, and during the 6th and 7th periods.
*For a paper that is more than 3 pages, sign up for two appointments so that there will be time to read everything.
*Reserve appointments well ahead of time, especially during research paper seasons and in the last few days before a writing assignment is due.
*Students should arrive on time with the following items: the writing assignment in some kind of draft form (it doesn't have to be finished- unless your teacher has told you otherwise) and a description of your writing assignment (preferably the actual assignment sheet if there is one) so we can understand your teacher’s expectations.
*In the case of an emergency, students must cancel at least one day before the appointment or else be recorded as a "no-show." No-shows are also recorded when a student is over five minutes late for an appointment. Your parents will be notified if you are ever a no-show.
*A Writing Center stamp is proof that you visited us. We’ll stamp your paper at the end of your appointment.
