A Little Peek into Third Grade...

Third grade is an exciting year!  In math, we will be extending our knowledge from adding and subtracting to multiplying and dividing.  We use a program called Mad Dog Math that is challenging and motivating. It helps us in daily practice of our multiplication and division facts.  In reading, we will read short stories and some chapter book novels.  The tale of friendship, Charlotte's Web has been the favorite.  The use of our creative minds are necessary in writing this year as we write silly poems, paragraphs and even short stories.  In our look into history, we will study the beginnings of our country and how it came to be this great nation.  As we become scientists, we will explore many aspects of God's creation.  Cells, space, and animal grouping are just some of the things we will examine in our science units. Our trip to the Long Beach Aquarium allows us to get an up close look of the amazing wonders that God has created.  Also, throughout the year we open God's word to read the accounts of people whose journeys and choices can teach us how to live Christian lives.
